Response to Feedback

I have embedded a link to my stop motion animation onto a padlet page and gave the link around to some of my peers for them to review. I have done this so that I can receive unbiased feedback for my animation and learn what was done well and what was not done so well.

By looking at the padlet page that my peers posted their reviews on I have learnt what I could do to improve my animation. All of the feedback was helpful and taken into consideration. Some of the feedback included constructive criticisms such as 'I thought the animation was very creative and was entertaining, however I don't think the music went well with it,' and 'The animation was quite funny and I liked the audio and thought it added to the humour, I would however be careful when producing the animation as in one or two of the frames the fingers moving the pieces can be seen.' From this advice I discovered that while the audio itself was good it didn't fit the animation perfectly, If i had more time or resources for short music I would have sought out better fitting music however due to time constraints I browsed a site which had creative commons music for a piece suitable enough for the animation and the music in the animation currently was the result. If  was to remake this animation and had more time I would perhaps take more time to look for music which suited it better. I would do this by looking on more websites for free music that I can use and if possible ask any music students or people who play an instrument to make some for me. I would also reshoot it so that none of my fingers were in any of the shots and perhaps take more shots in between movements to make it look more fluid.

Some other criticism given was that 'The animation was very interesting and I found it funny, however in some frames the pieces seemed to jump too far in comparison to others,' and 'I liked the animation, it was creative and funny. I thought the music suited the animation very well and was paced along with the animation itself.' From these responses I learnt that when making my animation I should have taken more photos in between movements of the pieces so as to make the animation run more smoothly.

I will not be remaking my animation as there is really no need to and also if I wanted to I would not have the time to do so.

In conclusion I think the animation was done quite well aside from a few things that could be improved upon such as, hands in the frame, jumpy animations and the music. If I was going to remake my animation I would definitely take these into consideration and improve upon them, however since I am not remaking my animation I will take them into consideration during my next produced animation so that I don't remake these mistakes. These critiques will hopefully help me improve my animation skills in the future.
